224. Adam Louis BOURQUIN (225) was born in 1792 in Bern, Switzerland. He emigrated on 18 Jun 1833 from Pennsylvania. (488) He died about 1938 in Twin Grove, McLean Co., Illinois. Adam died of sun stroke while working in the feilds a year after moving to IL. Date of Adam's death is based on account by Mary Belle Bourquin Street, dau. of Adam jr. 1. Adam's parents left France during the french revolution and went to Switzerland. No one knows the fate of his first wife If she remained Switzerland or if she died. All that is known is that he met and married Marie Bleuch in Switzerland and they immigrated to Pennsylvania around 1833, from there they went to Ohio and eventually Twin Grove , IL. where Adam died and left four small children. The family story is that Marie could not afford to support Louisa so she was given to a distant relative when she was 2 years of age. Louisa's Bourquins Wheeler's Obituary stated that she was raised by Squire Oliver and Della Pease of Bloomington , Ill. He was married to MARIE? OR MARIA? UNKNOWN.

in Bern, Switzerland. He died in USA. 1. An Amos Bourquin Purchased 40 acres
from federal gov. on 4/15/1858
in Mclean co, IL for $12.40. It was thought that he and his brother had
remained in Switzerland when his father and stepmother came to the
U.S. and settled in and around Mclean co, IL.
